BEGINNERS

40 weeks of instruction

August 4th- June 12th

$320 mo.

The journey begins with individual attention to every child in Étoile’s safe and supportive setting. We guide and encourage our young students through the disciplined, foundational framework of classical ballet.

We start at barre to learn the fundamental positions and incorporate them into combinations that lead to centre work. This regimen emphasizes stability, structural alignment, and consistent vocabulary for all movements, jumps, and turns. Practice ensures proper turnout from the hips, allowing for a greater range of motion and balance. Repetition of the basic steps provides a solid foundation for the precision needed at all levels of ballet. Young dancers also are introduced to musicality - how to feel the heartbeat of the music.

Our goal for beginners is for them to recognize the power of commitment and practice in becoming a rising star. The day comes when they achieve their first breakthrough moment as a young dancer. That experience and the ones that follow will bond dancers to their art. First steps build a strong foundation for fulfillment and success in ballet.

INTERMEDIATE

40 weeks of instruction

August 4th- June 12th

$510 mo.

This is an exciting time for Étoile dancers. They are more comfortable with basic techniques; they better understand how to apply corrections; and they are developing the inspiration and passion that are important to be successful dancers.

Intermediate classes introduce students to more complex movements, combinations, and choreography. Dancers are challenged by advanced and diverse exercises at barre and centre. Emphasis is given to multiple pirouettes and to petit and grand allegros. We focus on the ability to hold turnout, build strong core muscles, understand articulation in feet, and execute precise technique to support readiness for pointe work.

In weekly conditioning class, students strengthen and develop muscles to aid in the prevention of injury and prepare their bodies for the rigors of classical ballet training and performing.

Étoile introduces the aesthetic beauty of the George Balanchine technique at this level, with emphasis on movement, speed, and showcasing the full form of the dancer.

Intermediate dancers are eager to explore and develop their artistry and musicality, and many students are ready to audition for summer programs and enter local and national competitions.

ADVANCED

40 weeks of instruction

August 4th- June 12th

$676 mo.

What sets Étoile’s advanced dancers apart is their pointe work. We strive to have all our advanced dancers taking their classes en pointe, which creates strength and confidence in any step, audition or role they attempt.

Our advanced students are learning the differences in technique and style between classical, Balanchine, and contemporary ballet. Their inclination will be based on their physical alignment, natural ability, choreographic preference, and career aspirations.

Variation class focuses on soloist and principal roles. Every level of a company is essential to creating a full ballet, and we emphasize the artistic interpretation of every role. Students learn the history of a ballet and its choreographer and then make the studio their stage as they perform select variations.

Conditioning class is for injury prevention, balance, strength, and stamina. We implement cross training for full-body mobility, core stability, and correcting natural alignment.

Étoile’s curriculum provides progression for serious ballet students advancing toward professional standards. Our advanced classes focus on refining technique and instilling the necessary versatility, artistry, and discipline to achieve a career in ballet, qualification for a dance degree program, or further study.
